Fillings

Fillings are used to treat cavities, cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse (such as from nail-biting or teeth grinding). At Parkside Dental Group, our Dentists ensure the experience is as gentle and painless as possible. Our Dentists remove any decay before using a white restorative material to fill in the tooth. This can preserve and strengthen your natural tooth, allowing it to return to its normal shape and function.

Root Canal Therapy

Untreated tooth decay or trauma can lead to extensive damage to your teeth and have harmful effects on your overall oral health. When the nerve inside a tooth dies or becomes infected, it can cause severe discomfort and pain. By performing root canal treatment (Endodontics) we can work to extend the life of a tooth! Our Dentists can talk you through the procedure to ensure you are comfortable and well informed.

Preventive Care

Prevention is better than cure, so it is important to keep up with regular check-ups and professional cleanings. At Parkside Dental Group, our team of hygienists bring years of experience and are here to educate you on gum health, so that you avoid gingivitis, gum disease, and cavities.

Our Tips:

  • Brush your teeth twice a day—usually morning and night. Our team can recommend the best toothbrush and toothpaste for you. They can also instruct you on the best brushing practices
  • Clean between your teeth regularly, to remove food and bacteria from between your teeth
  • Use mouthwash when you can’t get to brushing
  • Tooth enamel is essential to teeth longevity – this can be preserved by avoiding acidic foods.
  • Be mindful of hard foods, such as some candies, food with bones, or seeds, can damage or chip teeth.
  • Use a custom mouth guard or sports guard if you play any contact sports.
  • If you grind your teeth at night, ask us for a night-time mouth guard to help protect your teeth

Extractions

While having an extraction may seem daunting, our team is dedicated to making you as comfortable as possible for any procedure. There are numerous reasons why it may be recommended to extract a tooth. We consider your options and overall health to determine if it is worth saving the tooth, or if extracting will better maintain your oral health.

Please be sure to share any underlying health conditions with our Dentists when you visit our clinic, and before any dental procedures.

Crowns, Bridges, Veneers

A Crown is a protective cap which can restore a tooth’s appearance, strength, shape, and function. They fully encase the visible portion of the tooth, making it appear as though the tooth is healthy and full.

Dental Bridges can replace a missing tooth, “bridging” the gap between healthy teeth, typically fused between two crowns. At Parkside Dental Group, we use high-quality bridges to make it seem like no work was ever done!

Veneers can be added to your teeth to give you the perfect smile. They are thin shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth to change their shape, colour, size, or length. Ask our Dentists if veneers are suitable for you, so we can work with you to give you a smile you can feel confident about!
